Whether you’re picking up a camera for the first time or you’ve been photographing wildlife for years, this adventure is designed for photographers of every skill level.

Throughout the workshop, you’ll receive personalized instruction in real-world situations while photographing Yellowstone’s incredible winter landscapes and wildlife. Along the way, we’ll answer your questions, demonstrate new techniques, and help you become more confident behind the camera.

When we’re not out in the field, we’ll spend time back at the hotel reviewing images, discussing editing techniques, and sharing post-processing tips to help you get the most from every photograph.

Pre-Workshop Classes

Before we head into Yellowstone, you’ll have access to pre-workshop training designed to help you feel confident and prepared. These online sessions cover camera settings, winter photography techniques, and what to expect during the trip.

As a result, you’ll arrive ready to spend more time creating photographs and less time learning camera menus.

No prior photography experience is required.

Loaner Gear

Don’t have the right equipment? No problem!

Canon DSLR cameras and lenses—including Sigma 100–400mm and Sigma 60–600mm lenses—will be available throughout the workshop. Mirrorless adapters are also available if needed.

Our goal is to make sure every participant has the opportunity to capture incredible images, regardless of the gear they own.

Transportation Designed for Photographers

Unlike large bus tours, we intentionally designed this workshop to maximize flexibility, comfort, and photography opportunities.

Day 1 — Arrive in Bozeman

Please plan to arrive at Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) by 12:00 PM (Noon). We are able to provide one scheduled group transfer to Gardiner, Montana, where the workshop officially begins.

To avoid unexpected travel delays, we strongly recommend arriving the day before. Winter weather can be unpredictable, and coming in early provides extra peace of mind. Jeff and I will already be in the area and are happy to recommend nearby hotels if you’d like to extend your stay.

Should you miss the scheduled group transfer, private shuttle services are available between Bozeman and Gardiner for an additional fee.

After everyone settles into their rooms, we will share a welcome dinner included with the workshop. We’ll review the upcoming days’ plan and cover camera settings. An info flyer will be available for easy reference, and we’ll answer any questions.

Day 2 — Private All-Wheel-Drive Photography Vehicle

Our private AWD photography vehicle gives us the flexibility to respond immediately whenever wildlife appears or the light becomes exceptional.

Days 3–5—Private Snowcoach

Travel deep into Yellowstone’s winter interior aboard a private snowcoach, reaching areas completely inaccessible to regular vehicles.

These specialized vehicles provide comfortable transportation while allowing us to stop frequently whenever photography opportunities arise.

Expect to photograph:

Snow-covered geysers

• Steam-filled thermal basins
• Winter wildlife
• Incredible frozen landscapes

Day 6 — Private All-Wheel-Drive Photography Vehicle

We’ll return to our private AWD vehicle for another full day dedicated to wildlife photography.

This flexibility allows us to spend more time with active wildlife instead of following a fixed schedule.

Day 7 — Return to Bozeman

Your final morning begins with our drive back to Bozeman for departing flights.

Weather permitting, we’ll enjoy a quick breakfast to go or stop for a sit-down brunch before arriving at the airport.

Please schedule departure flights for 2:00 PM or later.

Photography Instruction

This workshop is led by professional wildlife photographers who are passionate about helping others grow.

Throughout the trip, you’ll receive personalized instruction covering:

• Manual exposure in snowy conditions
• Metering for high-contrast winter scenes
• Wildlife behavior and anticipation
• Composition in minimal winter landscapes
• Field techniques for creating stronger images

Because every photographer learns differently, instruction is tailored to your experience level and individual goals.

Deposit & Cancellation Policy

At Jeff & Angie Photography, many of our workshops include arrangements such as lodging, transportation, permits, park access, boats, guides, and other services that require significant non-refundable commitments well in advance. Because of these factors, deposits are necessary to secure your spot. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for every workshop to protect your investment.

Deposit Schedule

A $1,500.00 deposit is due at the time of booking, unless other arrangements have been approved.
100% of the total workshop cost is due 120 days before the workshop’s start date.

Cancellations

If an unexpected situation arises and you need to cancel, we will do everything possible to help fill your spot.

If we are able to replace you, we will refund the amount received from the new participant (up to what you have paid).
If we are unable to fill your spot, all deposits and payments are non-refundable and non-transferable due to the advance commitments required for these trips.
Because life happens and nature is unpredictable, we strongly encourage all participants to carry travel insurance.

Popular travel insurance providers include
Faye, Allianz, TravelGuard, Nationwide, and World Nomads.

Participant Responsibility

Participants are responsible for:

• Getting themselves to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport
• Arriving in time for the scheduled group transfer
• Bringing appropriate winter clothing, boots, gloves, and personal items
• Purchasing travel insurance if desired
• Paying for dinner each evening
• Any additional lodging, transportation, meals, or activities outside the official workshop dates
