Monthly Mentorship

Your monthly mentorship will include 1 afternoon (approx. 2-3 hours) of one-on-one time in person if you are in the Corpus Christi area; if not in Corpus, we can do a Zoom meeting. During your time we can go out and photograph in a location you would like, review images, discuss camera settings, talk about new ideas, and/or work on editing. It is your time, so you pick the subjects. It also includes email/text support throughout the month.

A little bit about your mentor.

Angie is an award-winning photographer who discovered her love for the outdoors as a teenager shortly after her family moved to Lake Tahoe. Her passion is landscape photography, which she broadened after photographing birds for many years, and she’s realized she is definitely a bird watcher too.

Intrigued by so many different kinds of birds, in January 2021, her year-end bird count was 202 species of birds.

Angie is a graduate of New York Institute of Photography and is nearly done with her Masters degree at PPA (Professional Photographers of America)

Her first publication was in Diesel Magazine. Since then, she has been featured in Focus on Texas Magazine and their website numerous times. Angie started offering photography workshops and private lessons in the summer of 2019.

She also has a Facebook group called WT F-STOP and does meetups with local photographers in the South Texas area to share her knowledge with those who are struggling to get started in photography or just need a little help with camera settings.

WT F-STOP was born while she was out with friends, and they would ask “Hey Angie, what is the F-Stop?”.

I had the pleasure of attending a photography workshop given by Angie. She is truly a hands on, helpful teacher. She’s personable and ready to help you understand your camera to get the best images possible. She teaches everything from basic camera settings, composition to editing. Great experience! I’ve included my very first moon landscape photo taken during her workshop.

  • Whooping Crane Workshop

Angie is a wonderful teacher and leader. The workshop started with a meet-n-greet the evening before and took off early the following morning with a full 2 1/2 days of great photography opportunities - wildlife/birds and landscape/sunset on this tour. Very well planned and organized - great for both experienced and new photographers, Angie is quick to help out and teach what you need, from camera settings to composition to post-processing. Most of all she does it with great patience and a fun attitude. Loved traveling with her.

  • Whooping Crane workshop

Angie was wonderful. I met her on an African safari trip and I was brand new at photography. She was very friendly as a guest in that trip. So when I learned of her experience and how she and her husband Jeff does workshops back home I had to test it out. And not disappointed. Angie has gone above and beyond helping me with ANY questions I have and she gets back with you quickly. She is so helpful. More than I could expect. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you Angie. You have opened my eyes to landscape and sunsets and moon rises. It’s been wonderful.

  • Whooping Crane workshop

I’ve loved photography and dabbled here and there for over a decade. But this was the first workshop I’ve taken. Angie was just awesome. She answered all of my questions, no matter how “dumb” lol. She taught me some tips and tricks I would have seriously struggled to learn on my own. She checks in with you throughout each day of the workshop to make sure you’re good with your aperture and shutter speeds to make sure you come out of the workshop with great pictures. The location was awesome and it’s clear she’s facilitated good relationships with boat captains, etc., to aide in accessing the best areas for photos. Besides getting some fun pictures and learning some really cool tips and techniques, we also just generally had FUN! Highly highly recommended Angie and I look forward to taking another one of her workshops in the future.
