South Texas Birding Weekend April 30-May 3

$895.00

Port Aransas, Texas | April 30 – May 3

Only 5 spots are available, and a minimum of 3 participants is required.

An Immersive Photography Adventure

No experience required • Pre-workshop training included • Loaner gear available

We have designed this relaxed, hands-on birding weekend for seasoned bird photographers, beginners with cameras, and birders curious about photography.

Spring migration in Port Aransas is pure magic. Every day feels like Christmas morning—new species, unexpected moments, and birds arriving overnight as they move through one of the most important migration corridors along the Texas coast. The possibilities are endless.

I’ll guide you through my favorite birding locations, help you spot and identify birds, and offer photography support along the way. If you’re new to photography or want to test the waters, I have loaner Canon cameras and lenses available for use during the weekend so you can see if photography is something you’d like to pursue.

My goal is simple: help you slow down, enjoy the experience, and—if the birds cooperate—maybe even add a few lifers to your list.

Why Book This Trip With Me

Port Aransas is my home turf, and I know these birds—and these locations—well. I’ve spent years birding and photographing this stretch of the Texas coast, learning how weather, wind, tides, and timing affect what shows up and where.

When you book this weekend, you’re not just getting a list of hotspots—you’re getting:

  • Local knowledge of migration along the Texas Coastal Bend

  • Personal, in-the-field guidance whether your focus is birding, photography, or both

  • Access to loaner Canon gear, making this a low-risk way to explore bird photography

  • A relaxed, supportive experience focused on learning, enjoyment, and time in nature—not pressure or perfection

I’ll do my very best to put you in the right place at the right time and help you make the most of every opportunity.
