Monthly mentorship
A little bit about your mentor.
Meet Angie Birmingham—Nature’s Storyteller Through the Lens
Angie Birmingham doesn’t just take photos—she captures the heartbeat of the wild. Angie, based in South Texas, is an award-winning landscape and wildlife photographer whose work captivates and immerses you in the moment. Whether it’s the golden hush of a desert sunrise or the flash of a bird’s wing mid-flight, her images are both intimate and epic—like nature whispered just to her, and she answered with her camera.
Her love affair with photography started in her teens when a move to Lake Tahoe sparked a deep connection with the great outdoors. That spark turned into a fire. Over the years, Angie has traveled the world, camera in hand, chasing light, color, and those unscripted encounters with wildlife that only come to the patient and the passionate. As of April 2024, she’s identified over 350 bird species—and counting!
A graduate of the New York Institute of Photography and a Master Photographer of Photography through Professional Photographers of America (PPA), Angie’s work has graced the pages of Diesel Magazine and Focus on Texas Magazine. But what really lights her up? Her passion lies in guiding others to perceive the world in a unique way through photography.
She and her husband, Jeff, founded WT FSTOP (yep, it’s as fun as it sounds) to offer dynamic workshops that break photography down to its most inspiring core—composition, creativity, and confidence. From intimate one-on-ones to adventurous group trips, they help everyday people create frame-worthy images while reconnecting with nature.
But Angie’s mission goes deeper. As Program Director and Master Photographer at Sharp Shooter Foto, she leads transformative youth programs that blend photography with outdoor discovery. These workshops, which are completely free, provide students aged 12 to 17 with high-quality cameras, expert instruction, and an unparalleled opportunity to explore the natural world. It’s not just about learning to shoot in manual mode—it’s about capturing their unique voice and vision.
Angie believes photography can change lives—and she’s living proof. Whether she’s leading a stargazing shoot on a 40,000-acre Texas ranch, guiding teens on their first wildlife photo, or chasing the perfect golden-hour glow, one thing’s for sure: Angie doesn’t just teach photography—she invites you on a journey.
Monthly Mentorship
Your monthly mentorship will include 1 hour of one-on-one time via Zoom or in person if you are in the Corpus Christi area. During your hour, we can review images, discuss camera settings, talk about new ideas, and work on editing. It is your hour, so you pick the subjects. It also includes email support throughout the month. You can add additional hours at $75 per hour.
I will send out a invoice each month 5 days before it is due
