Join our Costa Rica Wildlife Photography Tour—March 4–11, 2026—and capture the incredible biodiversity of this tropical paradise. This all-inclusive bird and wildlife photography workshop takes you from lush rainforests to misty cloud forests and vibrant river habitats, where every day offers new opportunities to create once-in-a-lifetime images. Our Costa Rica Photography Tour captures the incredible wildlife of Central America, including scarlet macaws, resplendent quetzals, and dazzling hummingbirds.
Are you prepared for the journey of a lifetime? Our Costa Rica Photography Tour offers exclusive access to prime locations, expert instruction, and up-close encounters with the country’s most iconic birds and wildlife. Limited spots—reserve yours today!
What Sets Our Workshop Apart
Unlike typical photography tours that stick to Costa Rica’s most famous national parks bustling with tourists and tripods, our adventure takes you off the beaten path. We’ll explore four distinctive regions—each handpicked for its abundant wildlife and authentic, crowd-free settings.
Instead of jostling for space with selfie sticks and busloads of day-trippers, you’ll gain access to remote habitats in the lesser-known stretches of Costa Rica. These are places where toucans, parrots, and dazzling tanagers abound, and the only thing louder than your camera’s shutter is the symphony of wildlife sounds and the call of a howler monkey in the treetops.
Whether you're a novice or an experienced traveler exploring tropical landscapes, you'll uncover scenes and species that mainstream travelers seldom encounter. Think of it as a behind-the-scenes pass to the rainforest’s best-kept secrets, all curated to maximize both photographic opportunity and immersion in nature.
To reserve your spot,
we require the full payment of $5950 to reserve your spot since tour time is just around the corner; deadline to sign up is February 4th, 2026
We do have a single supplement fee of $750 for this trip.
Photograph dazzling hummingbirds in flight, brilliant tanagers and honeycreepers, majestic scarlet macaws, and the legendary resplendent quetzal. Along the way, you’ll also encounter toucans, parrots, owls, monkeys, and elegant wading birds along the rivers of Costa Rica.
With expert instruction, small group sizes, and private transportation, you’ll enjoy personalized guidance and exclusive access to prime photography locations. Whether you’re a passionate birder, a nature photographer, or simply seeking an unforgettable adventure, this Costa Rica photo tour is designed to help you sharpen your skills and return home with extraordinary images.
Who is this workshop for?
Whether you’re just picking up a camera for the first time or you’ve been shooting for years, this trip welcomes photographers of every skill level. We’ll meet you where you are—answering questions in the field and sharing techniques in real-world settings. When we’re not out capturing the moment, we’ll take time back at the hotel to dive into post-processing tips and editing workflows, helping you refine your images no matter your experience.
Photography Skills You'll Master
During this immersive journey, you’ll have the chance to elevate your photography in a variety of captivating ways. Each day brings new opportunities to refine your craft, from tracking elusive wildlife in their natural habitat to experimenting with creative techniques after nightfall.
Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll learn:
Capturing Birds in Flight: Hone your timing and focus, ensuring those split-second wingbeats turn into stunning images.
Low Light and Nighttime Photography: Tackle the challenges of shooting in dim conditions, both in broad jungle shadow and during dedicated nocturnal macro sessions—perfect for discovering the world of insects and amphibians after dark.
Perfecting Focus: Expand your ability to control depth of field and harness advanced autofocus tracking for crisp results, whether you’re shooting skittish hummingbirds or shy mammals.
Creative Macro Techniques: Explore both natural sunlight and crafted artificial setups to bring out the tiny, extraordinary details in frogs, flowers, and whatever else we can find in the jungle.
All along the way, you’ll receive personalized, hands-on guidance. Our goal is to equip you with practical skills and confidence—so you return home with images you’re truly proud of.
We also give each one of our participants a complimentary copy of Luminar Neo with your trip.

Essential Accessories to Pack
To make the most of your wildlife photography adventure in Costa Rica , a few carefully chosen accessories can make all the difference:
Gimbal Ball Head
While optional, a gimbal head brings much-needed stability when tracking fast-moving birds or monkeys. If you plan to use longer telephoto lenses, consider bringing a high-quality gimbal head for smooth panning and better support.Sturdy Tripod
Avoid frustration in the field by packing a solid tripod. Lightweight travel models may be tempting, but they often don’t stand up to the demands of wildlife photography. Choose one that’s robust and reliable, able to anchor your gear securely on uneven terrain.
Bringing these key accessories ensures you're well prepared—no matter what the Costa Rican rainforest throws your way.
